A MAN has escaped injury after he was allegedly threatened with a Samurai sword and kitchen knife by two unknown men inside his home.

Police are appealing to the public for information after officers were called to Garden Street in West Tamworth in the early hours of Friday morning.
A 31-year-old man was at home about 1am when police say two unknown men broke in and threatened him with a Samurai-style sword and a kitchen knife.

The man ran to a bedroom to hide, shutting the door behind him during the alleged incident.
Police claim the two men then tried to get into the bedroom the occupant was hiding in.
The men allegedly hit the walls and door of the room with their weapons, before eventually leaving the house.
Officers confirmed the man was not physically injured during the alleged ordeal.
Police said they were called to the West Tamworth home but the two offenders had already fled the scene.
An investigation was launched and Oxley police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward, including anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the time.
