At the back end of his 20s, Ben Jarvis's personal, professional and sporting realms have come into perfect alignment.

"It's great," he said of his life. "I couldn't ask for anything more, actually."

A dedication to work has resulted in the 28-year-old becoming a team leader at Transport for NSW (formally Roads and Maritime Services).
"I've always been fairly ambitious with my career," he said.
Jarvis oversees construction projects along the New England Highway.
In the past, that has meant long hours spent away from Tamworth - his home since birth.
But in recent times, the work has been located near Tamworth.
That has afforded him the opportunity to devote more time to his family and the Bears, whom he joined in 2016 after becoming disillusioned with life at West Lions.

The seasoned forward was primarily used off the bench as the Bears added to their back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015 with four more from 2016-19.
But this year he has been used as a starting prop following the departures of forward mainstays Shane Wadwell and Nic Dobson.
"It's good being at home and getting a spot in the starting side," said the former Oxley High student.

"I always knew I had the potential to start ... Now being at home, I can get into a bit of a routine and I can dedicate a bit more time to it [rugby league]."
Consequently, Jarvis is "really enjoying" his footy. "I've actually got a bit fitter and dropped a few kilograms."
Watching from the sidelines as Norths host Boggabri on Saturday will be Jarvis's partner Chloe and their daughters Layla, 7, and Allirah, 5, whom he said had "bought into" the Bears' renowned family culture.
