EMERGENCY services packed out Gunnedah's main street on Tuesday morning after smoke was seen coming from a local kebab store.

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews, paramedics, and police were all on scene at 9.55am at the Gunnedah Mediterranean Banquet & Kebab store.

FRNSW captain David Welch said it "wasn't a big" incident.
"There was an oven left on overnight which filled the place full of smoke, but there was no fire," he said.
"We had firefighters in breathing apparatus, and they made sure there was no fire and then turned everything off."
Firies got to work ensuring the place was ventilated by pushing fresh air in and the smoke out.
No one was inside of the business at the time.
