The Kangaroos were lent a couple players from the joint venture - who had 24 on the day - while a couple others from Tamworth answered the SOS.
"We found a bloke at the pub on Friday night and we had a couple older guys pulling the boots on," co-coach Ben Mitchell said.
One of those "older guys" was Greg Vallender.
The juniors coach went out and kicked two goals in the 13.10 (88) to 12.7 (79) win.
"He stands in the right spots," Mitchell said of Vallender.
Mitchell said it was good to play another close game of football and even better to get the win with an under-strength side.
The co-coach also said it was great to see Moree and Narrabri able to get so many players to the match where the lead change a handful of times.
The Kangaroos led by 14 points at quarter-time before the joint venture took a four-point lead in the main break.
A four goals to two third quarter gave the Roos the lead which they clung onto until full-time.

Branden Barker was named best on for Moree-Narrabri while Carl Frazier got that accolade for the Kangaroos.
Mitchell thought Bill Tydd played another "ripping" game and also commended one of his most reliable players.
"Bryson Shepherdson's playing some good footy," Mitchell said.
"He's not a standout but he's been very consistent throughout the four games and hasn't got the recognition of everyone else."
Mitchell hopes to have a handful of players return this weekend when the Roos host New England.
The women will also play the Nomads this weekend on the back of a 13.16 (94) to 2.1 (13) victory over Moree.
