Roos coach Shane Rampling was delighted with the 30-24 first-grade result, but it took a toll on him.
"I think I aged 20 years," he said. "I'm proud as punch of them.

"We got there the hard way though, we found a way to win."
Earlier, Boggabri and Moree drew reserve grade 26-26 and league tag 12-12.
Rampling said: "I asked Mad Dog (club legend Col Gillham) if he could remember a day when we never lost a game and he couldn't."
He said his charges "put last week's disappointment" behind them and "controlled the ball for much of the game".
In round one, the Roos led Gunnedah 20-18 - only to be beaten 24-20.
"Mick Watton, Brenton Cochrane and Stan Swan troubled us a lot but we worked hard for each other," Rampling said of Saturday's clash.
Centre Mitchell Fletcher was one of the many stars for the Roos, crossing for two tries.
"He scored two tries last week, too, but just gets better and better," Rampling said.
"He's strong, a hard runner and tough as nails. He's quite quick too.
"Him and Rob Doolan (fellow centre) are doing a real good job for us out there.
"Both run the holes well. And they run well off Josh (Trindall) and Kaylan (Murray). We will benefit from all that. Our attack was better this week, too, and they are staring to click.
"Once we learn to tighten the screws on sides and put sides to bed, we will be a very dangerous side."
Rampling said Jack Hayes was another standout, coming off the bench to play hooker and "was massive for us".
"He was our players player, Rampling said, adding: "Josh Trindall controlled the ball well and our forwards were great, kept going all day."
Big Moree prop Hayden Wiblen caused the Roos plenty of problems while fellow prop Marshall Barker was also strong.
Moree hooker Stan Swan was dangerous along with new signings and debutants Michael Watton and Brenton Cochrane.
"When they work out how to or where to fit Brenton (Cochrane) in, they will be a dangerous side too," Rampling said.
