Store manager Brett Rushby said it was about giving people the option to shop with children who do have sensory issues so "we can support them the best that we can possibly support them".
"We've had a lot of positive feedback from the customer's shopping that have just said 'it's a great idea, great to support, and good that Woolworths are supporting those people'," he said.
The low-sensory initiative was developed in consultation with disability service providers at Life Without Barriers.
Life Without Barriers chief executive Claire Robbs said it was a fantastic initiative that recognised the different needs of some customers.
"It gives people a way to do their shopping and increase their independence in an environment that is not stressful and overwhelming to them," she said.
To date, more than 264 stores nationwide are offering this initiative.
During quiet hour, staff:
- Turn off bakery ovens or chicken cooker buzzers
- Reduce volume on store phones and registers on the trading floor
- Clear store entry ways
- Reduce lighting and in-store music
- Remove roll cages from the shop floor and;
- Stop all PA announcements (excluding cases of emergencies)
