But there was a sense that it would come together.

Now the Rams have won two on-the-trot and are starting to show signs of getting back to their best.

"Things have started to click into gear," co-coach Barry Hoy said.

"They've been pretty good," Hoy said of the last couple of weeks.

"We've got a younger side so we're rebuilding."

Naturally it has taken them a bit of time to gel.

It's not something they have really had to deal with in recent seasons having a pretty settled line-up.

"It's only going to get better with more combinations coming together," Hoy said.

The most pleasing part of the two wins for him has been the way they have "finished off".

"Sometimes we've been to Scone with really good sides and only just come away with the win," he said.

"They were able to go on with it."

It was the same on Saturday.

Hoy highlighted Davidson as one player that has really taken a step up this season.

Backrow partner Sam Agar is another. He played second and third grade last year but has started at breakaway the last three games.

"All our backrow are playing pretty well together," he said.

"They're all young."

"(And) They're all putting pressure on each other. They're all wanting to play first grade."

The scrums and lineouts were on Saturday were a strong part of their game. They would have won "four or five" tighthead, Hoy said.

That gave the backs a good platform to work off.

The Rams resurgence will face a big test this Saturday when they head out to Moree. Like the Blue Boars were the Bulls are also coming off a win over Pirates.

Hoy said it is always a big ask to go out to Moree and get a win, but is "reasonably confident" they "can match them pretty well".
