A 13-YEAR-OLD girl has been airlifted to a children's hospital in Sydney with serious injuries after she fell off a horse on Wednesday afternoon.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Tamworth hospital last night to urgently fly the girl to Sydney Children's Hospital for specialist treatment.

A spokesperson from the emergeny service said the 13-year-old girl was riding a horse when she fell off earlier that day and suffered serious internal injuries.
She was treated by paramedics and taken to Tamworth hospital, before being transported to Sydney.
The chopper landed at Tamworth hospital just before 7pm on Wednesday and stabilised the teenager for transport.
Both the girl and her mother were flown to Sydney Children's Hospital so the child could get specialist treatment for her serious injuries.
It is understood she was in a stable condition at the time.
