The event wasn't able to go ahead in 2020 due to the pandemic but returned this year with less numbers, West Tamworth Bowling Club's Bob Hennessy said.
"It's great to have it back," Hennessy said of the Anzac Day bowls at the West Tamworth Bowling Club.
"I think numbers were a little down because of the uncertainty of it all [whether Anzac Day events would proceed].

Hennessy added: "It's just one of those things. It's been a great event for the people of Tamworth and the club. We'll have 20-odd bowlers have a game but it is a little disappointing from previous years."
It was a welcome return of the event which had changed over the years.
Hennessy - who's father and grandfather fought in wars - said the event now served as a way to remember loved ones.
"When I first started bowls 50-odd years ago, it was only really returned servicemen that would play and there'd be 70-80 bowlers that played," Hennessy said.
"Now they've passed on, it's people like myself who had a relation in the war who still come along."
Hennessy hopes the numbers at the event will build back up in the coming years.
