A new Tamworth era began at Rugby Park on Saturday, as a brand new Magpies side came home strong but lost 38-29 to St Albert's College in a season opener.
An excellent crowd descended on a sun-bathed ground for what turned out to be an entertaining game of rugby.
Elsewhere, Armidale downed Robb 26-10.

Pirates have suffered their first loss of the season after the Blue Boars upset them 24-17 in Narrabri.

The Swans have remained undefeated after two rounds following a 18.12 (120) to 14.12 (96) win over the Nomads at Riverside 5.
In the women's game, the Swans rebounded from an opening round loss to Inverell to beat the Nomads 9-17 (71) to 1-3 (9).
At Inverell, the Saints inflicted the Kangaroos with their first loss of the season: 15-10 (100) to 8.7 (55).
In the women's clash, Inverell won 12.9 (81) to 1.3 (9).
