Anzac Day, on Sunday April 25th is a day of national and international significance that gives us all the opportunity to pause and reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who have served in defence of our nation, and those who continue to serve today.

QHS hosted their entire school Anzac Day Assembly on friay. Coordinated by QHS Teacher, Chris Owen the service commenced with the Arrival of Official Party: Mr Owen, Mr Doug Hawkins (President of Quirindi RSL sub-branch), Mr Ken Pengilley 9 Quirindi RSL sub-branch), Mr Worley (QHS Principal), Ms Loughrey (QHS Deputy Principal).
The Acknowledgement of Country was delivered by Indiah Nean and Bronte Matthews, with Millie Slade singing the National Anthem.
The Prayer of Remembrance was offered by Rudi Sangster-Walker and a Visual Display on the 80th Anniversary of the siege of Tobruk - The Rats of Tobruk - 1941was introduced by Ella Worley and Isabella Davis.
James Redgrove presented the Survivor of Tobruk (Poem) - A night in the desert by George Rush, before the official playing of The Last Post, Ode of Remembrance, Rouse.
Mr Doug Hawkins, President of Quirindi RSL Sub Branch gave a public address.
QHS would like to thank all involved in coordinating today and to thank our Special guests, Quirindi RSL Sub Branch Representatives Mr Doug Hawkins and Mr Ken Pengilley.
Across the Liverpool Plains Shire area, Anzac commemorations will be held in Quirindi, Werris Creek Willow Tree, Murrurundi, and in our student townships of Nundle and Currabubula. QHS students are encouraged to attend any of the services.
