Tamworth: search to find missing bride after photo falls out of old songbook

Veronica Underwood said her husband Paul bought the book secondhand and inside was a picture of a bride with Solomons Photographic Studios, 245 Peel Street, Tamworth, NSW stamped on the back.

"I'm sure this photo is important to someone," she said.

"My husband plays the piano and always buys second hand books from the Salvos or Red Cross and he wasn't sure where he got this one from, it might have been from Coonabarabran.

"When he opened it this photo fell out and it looks like it has been kept in there to keep it straight, it might have been on a special song but we didn't know."

The picture is slightly smaller than an A4 size and is printed on a cardboard-type paper.

In 1954, an article in the Armidale Express said the Solomon name was known across the state for photography and was the go to place for a family portrait.

At the time, three generations of Solomons had served the Tamworth area, founded by George Solomon.

Mrs Underwood said that while there are no names anywhere, she presumes the couple married in Tamworth.

"It looks old, the songbook was published in about 1989," she said.

"I don't know anything else, but I thought someone might recognise the person because it's in a good conditions, I think the photo looks like it was taken in the 40's or 50's.
