The results didn't go the way North West coach Cody Beresford would have liked on Tuesday at the 2021 NSWCHSSA Boys Basketball Championships but he was still "really impressed" with his charges.

North West went down 92-44 against Sydney East in the opening game and then lost 101-42 against Sydney North.
Beresford said his side learnt a lot from the opening day.

"I was really impressed with the boys. We had two of the top three teams in the first two games," Beresford said.
"The boys weren't too worried about the scoreline. It obviously hurts being beaten by that much but we'll take a lot away from that and go into tomorrow where there are a couple very winnable games."
North West play South Coast and North Coast on Wednesday and Beresford is aiming to score a couple wins.
"There's no reason why we can't finish third in our pool," Beresford said.
