David Jewell believes the Tamworth Jockey Club has "identified two very passionate, young guys" to fill key roles at the club.

On Monday, the TJC administrator announced the appointments of Michael Buckley, who has been named the new general manager, and Mitch Robinson, who will take charge of the club's track and training operation.
The duo link up with the Tamworth Jockey Club after working at the Newcastle Jockey Club for the past five years.

It wasn't planned but Jewell said it was a bonus for the club to bring in two new managers who already have a working relationship.
"They're both similar guys. While one's in track admin and the other in the business, racing side, they both love racing and want to make careers, and aspire to do more, in the industry," Jewell said.
"Tamworth is the perfect place for them to make their mark."
Buckley becomes the fourth general manager at the Tamworth Jockey Club in as many years and takes over from Wayne Wood who resigned in January.
Prior to his appointment in Tamworth, Buckley held the position of industry liaison and racing supervisor at the Newcastle Jockey Club.
He was part of their management team responsible for a busy programme of racing at both Newcastle and Cessnock including working on major events such as the inaugural $1 million The Hunter in 2019.
Meanwhile, new track manager Robinson has come through the Racing NSW Sports Turf Management certification system where he was one of the leading apprentices in the state.
Having completed his apprenticeship training in 2020, he continued to work at Newcastle managing the day-to-day staff responsible for looking after two main grass tracks and the training surfaces.
Robinson had his first day in the Tamworth track manager role on Monday while Buckley is expected to start "in two or three weeks time", Jewell said.
However, both men will be at the Tamworth Cup meeting on Friday.
That meeting has attracted 210 nominations which were released yesterday.
The Great Northern Tamworth Showcase Cup (1400m) received the most nominations across the eight-race card with 43 horses vying to gain a start in the $200,000 race.
