The conditions were difficult, to say the least, but the athletes from the Tamworth Little Athletics Club excelled at the state championships on the weekend.

Olivia Earl, Dakota Ferguson, Isabel O'Connell, Hayden Saywer and Brooklyn Le Brocq Watton all claimed top 10 finishes with Dakota and Olivia both winning gold medals at Sydney Olympic Park.
Dakota won hers in the under 9 girls 800 metres while Olivia claimed an impressive three gold medals.
Olivia won gold in the 11-12 multi-class discus, shot put and 100m.
She also competed in the under 11 girls able body javelin event where she finished 19th.
To cap it all off, she scored personal bests in all four events in the wet and cold weather.

"I have never thrown in such conditions but they were my biggest throws to finish off a great season coming off winning at Country Championships three weeks ago," Olivia said.
She added: "Now I shift my focus on to the athletics program with NIAS [Northern Inland Academy of Sport]."
Most pleasing for the Tamworth Little Athletics Club was the support the athletes gave to each other at the championships.

Olivia Earl (11-12 girls multi-class): 1st discus, 1st shot put, 1st 100m
Dakota Ferguson (U9 girls): 1st in 800m, 4th in 400m and 7th in 200m
Isabel O'Connell (U11 girls): 7th in 1500m
Hayden Saywer (U12 boys): 5th in high jump
Brooklyn Le Brocq Watton (U10 boys): 7th in high jump
