Tom Fitzgerald (28) and Scott Brennan (9) briefly stalled the carnage. But when Dylan Smith had Brennan caught the wickets tumbled again, City losing 5-18, and if not for the efforts of skipper Peter Mead, probably would have been defending even less.
He was the last man standing on 15no.
Hazlewood bowled virtually unchanged from one end, Old Boys skipper Ben Middlebrook's resistance to take him off understandable with the allrounder finishing with the impressive figures of 4-30 from his 24 overs including eight maidens.
New ball partner Sands chimed in with 3-18 from his nine and Smith 2-12. Hayden Baker picked up the other wicket.
In reply Old Boys lost Dan Bryant early but Simon Norvill (26) and Adam McGuirk (22) quickly quashed any chance of City building any momentum from that as they took them within 20 of the first innings lead with nine wickets up their sleeve.
They did have a bit of late stumble getting there losing 3-4 at one stage, but Middlebrook (6no) and a dogged Jack Richards saw them past City's total.
Brennan was the best with the ball nabbing 2-17 from his eight.
