Hayden Sawyer, Isabella Sawyer, Charlie Osland, Callum Dear and Olivia Earl all claimed gold medals at the championships at the Mingara Regional Athletics Centre.
For multi-class athlete Earl, it was a sweet return after not competing in 2020 due to covid.

The 10-year-old claimed gold in her shot put event.
"Going to this meet I trained six times a week and knew that I was sitting in second [heading into the championships]," Earl said.
"But I did everything right leading into the weekend and came away with gold a metre ahead of all other competitors."
Abbie Peet, 13, had a huge weekend, too. The multi-class athlete competed in the open age events and medalled twice.

Hayden Sawyer (12 boy): long jump - 1st; shot put - 3rd; high jump - 1st
Isabella Sawyer (14 girl): high jump - 1st; 200m - 6th; long jump - 1st
Ellie Thomas (15 girl): high jump - 3rd
Charlie Osland (17 boy): 1500m - 1st; 800m - 1st
Lily Heap (13 girl): 1500m - 5th; 200m - 5th; 400m - 8th
Olivia Earl (11 girl multi-class): shot put - 1st
Abbie Peet (open multi-class): 400m - 2nd; 100m - 5th; 200m - 4th; 800m - 2nd
Callum Dear (18 male): triple jump - 1st; 400m - 8th
Caitlyn Etheridge (U20 female): 400m hurdles - 3rd
Cooper O'Neill (12 boy): 100m - 5th; 200m - 4th; long jump - 5th; shot put - 4th
Emmelene White (open women): Javelin - 2nd
