TWO men have been arrested, accused of attempting to kill another man in a brawl last week.

The 24-year-old victim is still fighting for life in hospital, but now the men charged with attacking him are behind bars.
Kenneth Morgan, 21, and James Fernando, 22, were arrested separately in Walgett on Tuesday morning.
The pair are now both facing charges of attempted murder.

About 7.30pm on Friday, police officers were called to Duff Street in Walgett, where a 24-year-old man was found with multiple injuries. He had been stabbed, kicked and punched in the face.
The 24-year-old was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics for stab wounds to the head and shoulder, before being rushed to the Walgett Multipurpose Centre.
Police said the Walgett man was airlifted by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to Dubbo hospital for further treatment.
He was later transferred to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he is reported to be in a critical condition in a medically induced coma.
Police issued arrest warrants for 21-year-old Morgan and 22-year-old Fernando as part of their investigations into the brawl.
About 1am on Tuesday, police homed in on Morgan at a house in Myall Street, Walgett.
The 21-year-old was taken to Walgett Police Station and charged with causing wounding or grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder, and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
About 9.30am, Fernando was arrested by officers at Walgett Police Station.
The 22-year-old was charged with causing wounding or grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder, and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Both appeared in Walgett Local Court on Tuesday where they were not required to enter pleas.
Morgan made no bid for bail, but Fernando's application was refused by magistrate Stephen Olischlager.
He ordered the pair to remain in custody while police compile the evidence. The cases will return to Walgett court in mid-April
