And now the United Sikhs and Guru Nanak Mission from Tamworth are offering free food to not only those who may need it, but anyone looking to feel friendship, love and community.
The free food stall will be operating every second Sunday of the month, at this stage located at the REX Motors fuel station on Robert Street and Duri Road.
"The message was all about promoting love and belonging among local people, and to serve humanity by sharing food," one organiser Prabhjot Singh explained.
All COVID safe, those preparing and serving the food are following all the health and safety precautions.
Their first stall was a success, Mr Singh said, once people realised it was just free food, no strings attached.
There are currently plans in the works to get a travelling food van to expand the service.
When the Guru Nanak Mission started in Tamworth, they started out by giving blood.

Since then, they've raised thousands of dollars to buy water to donate to local farmers in drought and to help out bushfire affected people.
"Everyone is equal, regardless of race, gender, caste, religion, we want to spread love, friendship and giving."
