Brodie Renshaw, 28, pleads not guilty to drug supply in Tamworth Local Court after Strike Force Catkin arrest

Brodie Renshaw was excused from appearing in Tamworth Local Court on Monday, for the second time in a month.

The 28-year-old was arrested by a strike force at a Tamworth home earlier this year.

On Monday, Legal Aid solicitor Wendy McAuliffe formally entered a not guilty plea on behalf of her client to a charge of supplying more than an indictable quantity and less than commercial quantity of cannabis.

Magistrate Julie Soars then adjourned the case to April, while police compile a brief of evidence into the charge.

Renshaw's bail was also continued during the court proceedings.

Renshaw is one of a handful arrested by Oxley police working as part of Strike Force Catkin.

The secret operation was launch in the middle of 2020 to investigate drug supply across the Oxley area.

After several months of investigations, Renshaw was arrested on January 7 at a home in Dibar Drive in Hillvue, alleged to have been involved in drug supply.

He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with the single offence. He has been on bail since his arrest.

A 31-year-old man was refused bail in the same court last month, accused of kidnapping by detaining a person in company with intent to obtain an advantage and drug offences.

He was arrested by the same strike force in early-January at a home in Henry Street in Werris Creek, and remains before the courts.

Police said Strike Force Catkin was launched in April last year to target suspects accused of supplying illegal drugs in the Tamworth and Werris Creek areas.
