After a long summer break, local councillors parked their caravans and returned to the chambers for the first time this year with a number of big decisions on the agenda.
A controversial wind farm proposal for Nundle was dealt a blow from the council as it voted to approve a damning submission to the Department of Primary Industry and Environment (DPIE).
The council has expressed 'serious concerns' about the potential social and environmental impacts of the state-significant development proposal.
Out at the airport, there are plans to position Tamworth as the state's aviation training and maintenance hub; starting with attracting another competitive carrier to Sydney.
And, JobLink Plus could be at the helm of a new youth training cafe at the skate park, the tender was awarded in closed council tonight.
