After almost 20 years, Mandy Coles had handed over the reins of the Psychic Fair held during the Tamworth Country Music Festival, but found herself once again drawn in to help.

"I'd actually passed on the reins to someone else ... but with COVID things changed and the week before last it looked like it wasn't going to go ahead and I thought, it had to happen so I'll do it," she said.
"It's gone exceptionally well!"
With some people losing loved ones last year, there was "quite a few people" looking to ease their minds, Ms Coles explained.
Adapting the plan to make it registrations only, the Reading Room event was segregated into segments for COVID safety, she said it worked so well she'd never go back to the way it was before.
Giving the other ladies a chance to get out and catch up with their regulars was also something Ms Coles felt passionate about.
"They've all been working over the pandemic, really getting into phone calls, Skype and Zoom," she laughed.
"But there's just some things you need to be face to face for."

Not just the spiritual healers, she also wanted to make sure the Tamworth community had the chance to do their "yearly check-ins".
The sold-out event, held at the Ibis Styles, is one of a few psychic events that will be planned for the year ahead, with details yet to be confirmed.
