Bruce Green has been lauded as a "selfless" mate, family man and a pioneer for rodeo and campdrafting in the region after he passed from injuries sustained by a charging bull.

Affectionately known as 'Greenie', Tamworth's ABCRA event coordinators have mourned his passing in what they describe as a "freak accident" at the Rodeo Roundup on Saturday.
'Greenie' was struck by a charging bull at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre, and passed away in Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital later that night.
The Grafton man was a long time member of the ABCRA board, and had always been "a part of the rodeo".

"[He was] out there making it happen, never asking anything but always giving everything," a statement from ABCRA read.
"A great bloke and a diamond in the rough. Generous in every way."

They tell of their shock, and are all deeply saddened by his passing.
"The Board and Members of the ABCRA extend our deepest sympathies to Bruce's family and friends," it said.
"We are holding you all close in our thoughts and wishing you moments of peace and comfort as we all reflect on the life and value of a wonderful fellow.
"Greenie, you'll be sadly missed by us all."
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
