The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) is predicting the possibility low to severe heat conditions for the region from Saturday and will keep moving upwards until Monday in a three day forecast.
Australia Day events on Tuesday are also set to get warm, with the heat hanging around the city as its strength wanes across the rest of NSW.

The area of extreme heatwave conditions is predicted to contract to a small area of the NSW South Coast, though severe heatwave conditions will continue to linger around the northwestern to southeastern NSW and into the north eastern Victorian border.
A high-pressure system over the Tasman Sea will prompt northerly winds distributing heat throughout the state, the BoM said.
The mercury will rise from Thursday, with the Illawarra, south coast and western Sydney hit hardest.
