In a Twenty20 at Riverside 1, the home side made 8-84 - with Newcastle passing the total in the 18th over after losing six wickets.

Elsie Ford (32) top-scored for Central North, while Old Boys quick Tara Craig (3-7 off four overs) and fellow Tamworthian Deni Baker (2-22 off four overs) were the home side's best bowlers.
Central North struggled from the outset after losing Gunnedah-based opener Claire McGuirk for a duck and No 3 Craig for one.
In reply, Newcastle slumped to 5-28. But they were rescued by 32-run, sixth-wicket partnership by Abbey Taylor (21) and Alethea Graham (17 not out).
In their second match of the day, against North Coastal at Riverside 1, McGuirk (41) and Craig (25) starred with the bat as Central North finished on 5-106. McGuirk's 37-ball innings included six fours.
When the Leader went to print, North Coastal were 1-70 after 14 overs.
