Co-coach Henry Cupitt said it was a "fantastic" and mature knock.
"It was a really good innings for a young guy making his Bradman Cup debut to be scoring an innings of that quality against good bowling in tricky conditions," he said.
"Very smart; he just knew his game really well."
He said the teen was a bit dirty when he came off, wanting to get more runs.
"But at the same time I don't think he realised the importance of that innings and where it got us to," he said.
At 6-21, Cupitt said they would have happily taken 70.
"To get there (90+) it's actually made something defendable," he said.
Unfortunately it wasn't quite enough with Central Coast chasing down the runs with more than 20 overs to spare.
At No.1 Oval, after a delayed start with the game not getting underway until 1pm, the colts' could only muster 72, Cotter Litchfield the best performer with the bat for Central North with 18.
Central Coast were relatively untroubled in the chase, peeling off the runs inside 19 overs.
