One is a 'small-scale' feedlot on the property 'Lloma' which could cater for 1000-head, which would cost an estimated $50,000.
'Lloma' is a cropping operation at Loomberah, owned by Goonoo Goonoo Pastoral Pty Ltd, located about 42km south west of Quirindi and approximately 43km to the west of Willow Tree.
The operation currently produces grass fed beef for meat production. The proponents hope to incorporate the drought feeding infrastructure into a small scale feedlot.
"The primary drivers of the development are to ensure consistency in the quality of animals turned off for existing customers and to maximise economic returns to the proponent to ensure financial viability of the farm enterprise," the Statement of Environmental Effects detailed.
The community has until January 13 to make submissions.
The other is a development application for a 1000-head feedlot planned for 'Mulwarree', an Ironbark Hereford farm, estimated to cost about $310,000.
At this stage, the developers are planning to start with 1000 head, but would be looking at expanding operations further after the initial start, if approved.

"It is considered that as the feedlot will be situated out of town and in a remote location away from receptors the social impact is likely to be minimal and be limited to the positive social impacts of employment for residents of Barraba and stimulation of the local economy," the Statement of Environmental Effects stated.
Submissions for the Barraba feedlot close on January 8.
