Leader snappers Gareth Gardner and Peter Hardin hit the streets and the parks to catch locals enjoying the countdown to Santa's big arrival - after a week of wet weather saw some of the places deserted.
And, while many have already opened their presents this morning for Christmas, every local got the gift they've been waiting for after Chaffey Dam surpassed 40 per cent - the magic number needed for water restrictions to drop in Tamworth.
Inflows into the dam continued on Friday morning and meant the water level surpassed 40 per cent in the early hours of Christmas Day.
