Tamworth has seen a drop in many offences, but there has been more murders and domestic violence, according to the latest Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) figures.

The statistics show the number of reported crimes over the 12 months to September 2020, as well as the numbers from the year to September 2019.
The data shows that break-ins to homes dropped from 519 in 2018/2019 down to 434 in the past year.

Thefts from cars also had a significant drop, with the figures showing 296 in the past year compared to 419 the year before.
Indecent assault, act of indecency and other sexual offences were all much lower in the past year than they were in the 12 months to September 2019.
There were 86 reported incidents in 2020, compared to 107 in 2019.
Malicious damage to property also dropped from 780 incidents in 2019, to 688 in 2020.
The number of murders in the Tamworth local government area increased, though, from zero in the 12 months to September 2019, to three in the 12 months to September 2020.
Domestic violence related assaults only rose slightly, from 415 in 2018/2019 to 418 in the past year.
Meanwhile, Gunnedah saw an increase in domestic violence related assaults, but a drop in break-ins to homes and theft from cars.
There was also a significant drop in break-ins to non-dwellings in the Gunnedah shire, decreasing from 30 incidents in the 12 months to September 2019 to just six in the past 12 months.
