Ligulate won by almost three lengths - Morgan called it "probably the softest win I've had all year" - in the Stella Artois Class 6 Handicap (1630m) and a return trip to Queensland is on the cards.
Morgan will take Ligulate back to Brisbane in the new year for The Buffering (1400m) at Eagle Farm.

As if racing in a $200,000 race wasn't exciting enough, The Buffering also acts as a route toward a $1 million race during the Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival with the winner gaining entry.
"We had booked tickets to have a holiday [on the Gold Coast] anyway but it's exciting to think we could have a runner while we're there," Morgan said of Ligulate.
"We're looking forward to taking him back up for The Buffering - that's already a big enough race."
Ligulate's win on Saturday came on the quick back-up after the five-year-old was beaten by a nose the week before on the Sunshine Coast.
Morgan said those runs bode well for Ligulate in The Buffering which is set to be run on January 2.
"His runs up there [Queensland] the last two weeks suggest he's not too far out of that grade at all," Morgan said.
"Andrew's one of the leading riders up there and he wants to ride him in The Buffering. That's always a good sign."
Morgan added: "I think he's up to that level but he'll need to have conditions to suit - that distance, 1400-1600, a dry track and a good barrier."
