Two small town residents touched by the cost of suicide have formed a new mental health community group to fight the scourge of mental illness.

Mental Is Everything Quirindi will hold its first fundraiser on Saturday.
Kerry Challenger and Clint Brennan said they were driven to found the organisation after the suicide of their brother and partner respectively earlier in 2020.
Kerry said they were both left wondering what they could have done better to help.

She co-founded Mental is Everything, which is designed to provide support for people of the Liverpool Plains who are suffering.
The charity plans to organise free community social days, seeded with discreet mental health professionals who will seek out people who need help.
She said they wanted to break down "slogans" like "big boys don't cry".
"We want people in our community to realise it's okay to talk," she said.
"One conversation can save a life."
The organisation will also help spread awareness of the often hidden illness, she said.
Their first event, a charity car wash, will be held on Saturday at Tamarang Service Centre Quirindi from 10am to 3pm.
