Two weeks after being unable to scramble together a side, Tamworth had Quirindi scrambling at No.1 Oval on Sunday as they opened their Connolly Cup account in comprehensive fashion.

Brad Redshaw led the charge with five wickets while ace young leg-spinner Zac Craig chimed in with four as the home side steamrolled Quirindi for just 47.
They then took just over four overs to polish off the runs, Adam McGuirk bringing up the win with a boundary the first ball of the 5th over.

"A couple of weeks ago was disappointing, but this week's been a lot better, we didn't have as much rep on and we were able to fill a team and I guess we've shown that we can be a force in the competition if we put it all together," keeper and co-organiser of the side Travis Ling said.
Quirindi showed some good resistance early with Tamworth not taking their first wicket until the ninth over. But things fell apart when Redshaw bowled top-scorer Aaron King (19) and then a ball later Andrew Cohen.
Not happy with the way he was bowling early, Ling said the quick had suggested bringing someone else on.
"Then he got two wickets that over and you couldn't get the ball out of his hands from there and he went on and got five," he said.
Craig then finished off the job.
The youngster struck with his first ball, bowling Todd Burgess with a ball that he had no idea about, and proceeded to back up his four wickets for Old Boys the previous day with 4-12.
He was someone that Ling had spoken about heading into the game.
"As I said during the week he's perfectly suited to this type of cricket and he's backed that performance up, he's backed up the praise he's been getting over the last couple of seasons," he said.
"Every opportunity that he gets he's taken."
