Tamworth Regional Council confirmed Burgmanns Lane, which joins the New England Highway to Duri Road on the outskirts of town, had been closed off to traffic on Monday morning.
The road remained closed to all traffic on Tuesday morning, due to floodwater and debris on the lane's main causeway.
Gap Road, which runs between the Kamilaroi Highway and Werris Creek Road, is closed due to flooding.

The main thoroughfare connecting Premer and Spring Ridge has been blocked by water over the road.
Coonabarabran Road, Longfellow Street and Purlewaugh Road between Premer and Spring Ridge are closed, according to Live Traffic NSW.
Emergency Services have reminded people to never drive through floodwater, after responding to a rescue in Tamworth on Monday.
The flood response team from the Tamworth branch of the State Emergency Service and four ambulance crews worked together to rescue a man who had attempted to drive through floodwater on Burgmanns Lane.
The driver and his ute were both washed downstream of the causeway.
The man had to be rescued by emergency services from where he was trapped on the roof of his car, surrounded by floodwater.
