St Vinnie's regional director, Phil Donnan, said he and his fellow rough sleepers in both Tamworth and Armidale got "just a bit wet" for their first event.
Armidale's fundraising efforts garnered enough to start up their program, with $3000 raised by TAS students.
A whopping $16,675 was raised, enough to introduce their addiction outreach program "to the level we could never imagined."
Their program with Freeman House will help newly rehabilitated people create their own communities, creating a support network out of the "artificial environment" of a rehab centre when they leave.
Tamworth raised enough fuel money for a year for Rosalie House, so Mr Donnan said a bit of water was nothing.

The town's total so far of $1780 has created a good problem for St Vinnies: they now need more volunteers for Rosalie House to keep up with the funding.
"That's sufficient for us to start transport services, and we've already sourced a vehicle, so that will pay petrol for a good year," Mr Donnan explained.
"It's created a good problem - we have the money but need the people to help us out.
"The generosity of the community has been great, so if that can extended to people helping out it would be incredible."
