The accident near Curlewis cut off traffic in both directions with diversions in place for almost three hours, however Liverpool Plains Shire Council say the way is now clear.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was sent out a 7.10am this morning after reports of a serious car accident 15 kilometres south of Curlewis.
It's reported the vehicle left the road and hit a tree, leaving a man trapped.

The 33-year-old man, a passenger in the car, had to be rescued and treated by emergency services.
ASNSW Paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team stablised him before airlifting him to Tamworth Base Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
