Owen Rogers, 38 and a goalkeeper since age 14, was promoted to striker for Tamworth FC at the end of their blowout semi-final defeat of Gunnedah FC last Saturday - and then produced a sublime bicycle-kick goal in the 91st minute.

Rogers said of the goal: "Anyone who didn't see it, I'll tell 'em I was like a gazelle. But in real life, it was probably more like a brick."
On Saturday at Scully Park, Rogers will be in goal when Tamworth FC try to win a third-straight premiership by defeating undefeated minor premiers Oxley Vale Attunga.

He got injured in 2016 and sat out the past three seasons, before Tamworth FC's longtime keeper Michael Gay convinced him to join the club.

The team who controls the middle will win the grand final, he predicted.
