The girls made their way to SportUNE in Armidale on Friday and spent the whole weekend developing their skills on and off the court.
After getting settled at the Austin College at the University of New England on Friday night, the girls were raring to go come Saturday morning.
By 8am, they were preparing for their morning strength and conditioning session with personal trainer Matt Hourigan. The rest of the day was filled with intensive skills sessions and intensive drills.
Helping the girls reach new heights in their training were a combination of NIAS and NCAS coaching staff, with special guest coach Kirstie Fuller from Netball New South Wales.
In between their intensive training and strength and conditioning sessions with personal Hourigan and SportUNE high-performance manager Matt Pine, the netballers sat down to hear from local sport psychologist Marni Hietbrink.
Hietbrink delivered a session on Saturday to educate the athletes on performance psychology and how their mental health can affect their performance on the court and during games.
The NIAS netball program's head coach, Sophie Sincock, said: "It was fantastic to be able to give the girls a high-performance weekend and welcome the North Coast Academy of Sport for match play too. With the Academy Games being cancelled this year, it was a great way to finish off the program."
After an extensive day of sharpening on-court skills, improving strength and conditioning levels and learning about psychological factors and the role they play in on-court performances, the girls spent Sunday putting these skills into practice.
The academies engaged in high-level games against each other at the SportUNE complex.
