Northern Inland Football operations manager Toby McVey said it just sums up what has been "a wild year".
Now into it's third year, the summer competition will be played across six divisions - under-12s, under-14s, under-16s, men's, women's and mixed.
"It's a more social, fun comp than the traditional competitive winter comp," McVey said.
"We have quite a few players that don't play in the winter that play with their partners, husbands, wives, friends and kids."
With COVID-restrictions still in place they did cap the number of teams, but ended up with 55, which he said was "really exciting".
Last year without restrictions they had 63.
Games will run through from 4.15pm with the last games kicking-off at 8.15pm.
It is a "very busy" time with several other competitions and programs also getting underway.
The Summer Futsal competition starts this coming Monday. Played at the Sports Dome it is open to players aged from under-8s through to under-12s and will run for nine weeks.
On Tuesday the Kick-On for Women program commences and on Wednesday the MiniRoos Kick-Off for Girls, which is aimed at girls 4-11 years.
