Pushed to February this year because of the drought, the six-week tournament has moved back to his traditional end-of-season date and is slated to kick-off on Thursday October 22.
After failing to attract enough interest and being subsequently cancelled earlier in the year, interest for the upcoming installment has encouragingly been strong.

On the indications of registrations, with team nominations closing this week, second grade captain Rory Marshman, who is part of the organising committee for the 7s, said they are optimistically hoping for 35 teams across the 15s boys and girls, 17s boys and girls, and men's and women's competitions.
"If we managed to get that that would be great in terms of numbers," he said.
The response from sponsors has been similarly pleasing.
Marshman said so far they have secured "about 25-35" sponsors.
Games will be held over two nights.
The senior competitions will be played of a Thursday night and at this stage will feature eight men's teams and four women's.
The 15s and 17s divisions will follow on Friday night.
They are still waiting to confirm numbers and probably won't be able to until after the school holidays.
Marshman said individuals can still register but they will have to get in in the next few days.
The 7s comes off the back of what was the club's most successful season for a long time.
On top of their second and third grade title success, the Magpies also won the club championship.
Several players also received individual recognition.
Mitch Watts was awarded the Ken McConville Shield as the Player of Most Promise for the men and Harry Snook, who was adjudged the player of most promise last year, the Roundtable Shield Award for sportsmanship, while Liam Allen was the leading pointscorer for second grade and Hamish Heeney third grade.
