There was no large commemorative services for the men and women in blue with the community, but rather Oxley police held small, private services in Tamworth and Narrabri in line with strict distancing guidelines.
Oxley Superintendent Kylie Endemi lead the service in Tamworth, surrounded by a small contingent of officers.
For Oxley, the day holds particular significance after they lost one of their own in the line of duty - one that will never be forgotten, they said.

"After having lost one our friends and colleagues, everyday we pull on the blue uniform and we remember them," she told the Leader.
"Our hearts remain heavy, but we continue to work hard to protect and serve our community."

Assistant Commissioner Geoff McKechnie said the day wasn't a usual one amid the current COVID climate, but he said officers were still able to pay their respects.
"We take our duty to honour the memory of those officers very seriously, and our commitment to support the families of officers who died on duty will never diminish," he said.
National Police Remembrance Days honours 274 officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
