A ROAD worker pinned between a machine and a post has been rushed to hospital.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to an emergency that involved a 38-year-old male earlier this afternoon at Tabulam, near Tenterfield.
It's believed the man was part of a crew of workers in the process of re-sealing the road at the time of the accident.
At some point, the man became trapped between the machine used to re-seal the road and a post and was taken to hospital with a compound fracture to his leg.

Crews stabilised the man in his 30s before he was airlifted to hospital to receive treatment for the injuries he sustained in the incident.
It's believed the man was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
