New England president David Clifton has condemned the behavior of Tamworth and Harbour Knights players involved in a brawl after Saturday's third grade grand final, and said the zone is investigating the incident.

Tensions boiled over after the final whistle with footage showing several punches being thrown.
The altercation marred not only what was, Clifton said "a good game", but "a great day's football" and was "not necessary".
"It's an ugly incident, it should never have happened," he said.

"These guys are supposed to be mature footballers and there's just no need for that sort of stupidity."
"You might get hot-headed about something or other but to turn around and start a barney after full-time is just ridiculous."
He said it will "be investigated".
"We'll look at the footage and we'll make some decisions on it," he said.
"I daresay there will probably be a judiciary hearing about it."
Tamworth president Mitch Hanlon said he was "appalled" by what he witnessed.
"We're not proud of what happened and I know our third grade coaches have remonstrated to the team about how poor their actions were, our unsportsmanship, and we'll be doing an internal enquiry about it for sure and I'm sure people will be cited as they should," he said.
It has detracted from what was a great win, and great day for the Magpies with second grade also triumphing and the club picking up their first club championship in a long time.
"No one's going to talk about the win, they're all going to talk about the brawl and how people lost their heads," Hanlon said.
Not "what rugby is about" he added: "I don't care who started it; I don't care if they started it, I don't care if we started it, at the end of the day it shouldn't have happened."
