A MAN has been charged with two alleged armed robberies where employees at a service station and supermarket were threatened with a knife.

Oxley Police District detectives established Strike Force Chowan to investigate armed robberies in the state's north-west late last year.
Police allege the 28-year-old was one of two men who entered a service station on the Newell Highway at Narrabri just before 5am on September 26, 2019.
The man then allegedly threatened an employee before fleeing the scene with cash and cigarettes.
Just three days later, the man is alleged to have entered a supermarket on Manilla Road at Oxley Vale, where he is claimed to have threatened two employees with a knife before he stole cash and cigarettes at about 6:40pm on September 29, 2019.

After extensive investigations and a public appeal for information, Strike Force Chowan detectives arrested the 28-year-old man at Narrabri Police Station about 1:45pm on Tuesday.
The Narrabri man was charged with two counts of robbery armed with an offensive weapon.
He was refused bail and will appear in Inverell Local Court today.
Police investigations continue.
