A teenage boy was airlifted to Brisbane after he suffered serious burns from a pressure vessel inside a shed on Furracabad Road at Glen Gowrie Distillery.

At 2.18pm Monday afternoon Glen Innes Fire Crew Pumper 302 responded to the incident at Glen Gowrie Distillery to assist police and ambulance with the male burn victim.
"The injuries were caused to the young man operating the equipment by a very high pressure escape of steam from one of the vessels," fire captain Earl Sharman said.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter came to the aid of the 16-year-old boy, who had suffered steam burns to his upper body.
He was stabilised by the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team at Glen Innes Hospital before he was airlifted to Royal Brisbane Hospital Burns Unit for specialist medical treatment.
Meanwhile, fire crews on the scene investigated the vessel in question, and after the examination they assured it was safe to be left in the hands of the owner.
"The owner of the distillery had everything under control and the situation contained before we arrived," Mr Sharman said.
"We checked out the place for any possibility of further problems."
