Year 6 student Lawson Kearney said the concept for the week long celebrations had been driven by the students.
"All of the student representative council (SRC) students and school captains got together in meetings, and decided to hold this event to try and brighten up the world a little bit," Lawson said.
"Because of the coronavirus, the drought and the bushfires we thought it would be a good idea to brighten up the world a little bit.
"We thought dressing up and holding these events would be a good way to do that."
St Edward's Primary School teacher Greg O'Toole said the students had shown a great deal of initiative in putting the event together.
"It is really wonderful to see how it has all come together," Mr O'Toole said.
"This week has been all about reminding ourselves to be positive and to be grateful for the blessings we do have, rather than focusing on what we might be missing out on.
"It was initially slated to be just one day, but the students did such a fantastic job to create a whole week of celebrations and activities."
