Harry Wilson and Jock Campbell's Queensland Reds' produced a mammoth defensive effort on Saturday night to complete a winning weekend for the region's Super Rugby AU products after Alex Newsome's NSW Waratahs had beaten the Western Force on Friday night.

The Reds literally tackled the Melbourne Rebels' pants off in a season-restoring 19-3 bonus point win at Suncorp Stadium.
The victory, in which the Reds made 204 tackles to the try-less Rebels' 66, saw them leapfrog the Waratahs into second spot on the ladder with three rounds to play.

The Rebels peppered the Reds' line for almost 30 minutes to begin the second half for no reward, bending the line but never breaking it as Queensland made 108 tackles to four.
And somehow the Reds managed the first points of the half with Hamish Stewart barging 35 metres in traffic to seal the result with five minutes to play.
"It was Origin-esque, like a Test match, they just kept fronting up," Thorn, a former All Black and veteran of 11 State of Origins for Queensland, said.
"Queenslander, that's what it was. If you summarise Queensland, that's what it's about.
"You can't describe it."
Wilson was busy in defence for the Reds making 13 tackles while Campbell was electric at fullback, his probing kick return setting up Brandon Paenga-Amosa after winger Jordan Petaia had scored the Reds' first try.
On Friday night Newsome scored his third try in as many games as the Waratahs beat the Force 28-8.
The Glen Innes native's 35th minute effort, which came after some neat lead-up work, gave the Waratahs a 16-8 lead at half-time.
He had a strong game in attack with an equal second for the game, and the Waratahs, 79 metres (from four carries).
