They'll hit the road for round three to face a red-hot Tamworth team boasting three wins from their opening four matches this season.
The Glen Innes girls have had only one opportunity to play together this year; three weeks ago in trial matches against the Armidale Blues.
Although the Elkettes might be lacking game time, coach Sam Price has confidence in the squad's talent.

"We have tried to source some games but we haven't got anything to work really," he said.
"We had the trial game and I know the girls went really well, it is just a difficult season to prepare for, already shortened and then trying to get some momentum with two byes.
"I think they will be very competitive and I am really looking forward to seeing how they do perform."
It will be a tough ask with a handful of players missing for the clashes and only nine expected to make the trip.
However, they have depth in the squad including Highlanders players Lenikki Craigie, Hannah Crisp, and new Elkettes skipper Sarah Byrne.
"It is a very handy team and I know most of those girls have played together with Inverell for the last couple of years," Price said.
"And I think there are a few of the girls who played for us in the original team that are interested in playing again so that is pretty exciting."
Price admitted he has only attended a few training runs with the team but with, bucket loads of experience in the ranks, they've been happy running their own sessions.
When he is around, Price hopes to add a different element to the technical aspects of rugby.
"The opportunity came up with the girls and it was something really exciting to have a go with - something different - so I am looking forward to actually getting involved with them, doing some coaching and seeing how they go this year," he said.
"I am sure my coaching is very different to what they have had in Inverell.
"Obviously Sarah [Byrne] will be doing a lot of the work, to be fair.
"I think that will make a big difference too.
"It is not like the first year we played where a lot of the girls hadn't played at all and they didn't know what to do.
"This year we have got a lot of experience so it will be interesting to see how it goes.
"It is just excellent to have the girls back."
