The Baa Baas have been winless in first grade from the opening two rounds but will be playing for more than just the ladder points as the cross-town rivals go head-to-head.
In memory of former player Johnboy Quinlin, who died earlier this year and would be celebrating his birthday on Friday, the Barbarians will be donating funds raised at the match to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.

Baa Baas president Rhys Graham said they will be collecting donations at the gate through their "tap and pay" system as well as through a donation bucked.
"It is in memory of Johnboy because he was a massive part of our rugby club and played a big part in our hearts so we thought we would donate to a heart charity," he said.
Blues' co-coach Luke Stephen also threw his support behind the Baa Baas' chosen charity.
"We are happy to be a part of that this year in supporting the cause close to Baa Baas' heart," he said.
On the field, the Blues and the Baa Baas share a strong rivalry and this Saturday is set to be no different.
"They will be a good, fun opponent, they always are. As a club, we have nothing to lose and them winning the knockout, they are meant to be the in-form team so we will give them a run for their money," Graham said.
The Blues will also be aiming to re-enter the winner's circle after missing out on the points against Tamworth.
Stephen said they are firmly focused on moving forward.
"You can't change the past, the result is in the book, all we can do is move forward and learning from what didn't go well on Saturday," he said.
Although the games take on a deeper meaning, Stephen would still like his team to play with their heads.
"The two clubs are very competitive and the games are played in the right spirits so it is a case for all of us of getting out there and playing hard footy and smart football," he said.
The Blues lost two props in the opening stages of the match against Tamworth but Stephen said they've got the depth to fill their spots.
