CONTRACTORS at Manilla's Water Treatment Plant have come from Victoria where a coronavirus outbreak has forced the entire state into lockdown and 725 new cases were recorded today.

Tamworth Regional Council confirmed the staff have been allowed to enter NSW on a permit on the basis they are doing critical work, but must quarantine when they return home.
"Under the permit approval staff are required to self-isolate when not providing the service or work; and because the contractor has a COVIDSafe work plan," a TRC spokeswoman said.
"Council has directed the contractor to use all reasonable measures to comply with the contractor's COVIDSafe work plan and the border permit requirements.
"The safety of our community is of utmost importance to Tamworth Regional Council and we will continue to comply with directions of the NSW Government."
The NSW Police and public health officers are responsible for enforcing the conditions of the contractors' entrance into the state.
The tender for the multi-million dollar project was awarded in late-2019.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced today that people who want to enter the state from VIC will be required to spend 14 days in quarantine from Friday.
