Liverpool Plains Shire Council mayor Andrew Hope said he expected that groundwater sources for the shire's other water supplies would soon "experience some level of improvement".
"In particular, there has been a good flow in Borambil Creek which charges the Quirindi/Willow Tree supply where the groundwater is very responsive to streamflow," Cr Hope said.
"This should improve the water level which, previous to the rain, had remained at the same level for some time despite reduced extraction during winter.
"There have also been good flows in Quirindi Creek which provides the Wallabadah groundwater supply."

Cr Hope still urged consumers to keep the falling levels experienced during the drought in mind.
"Although the rainfall has improved our water security ... water is a precious commodity and we can never be sure when we'll receive more good rain so please remain water conscious and use resources wisely," he said.
Keepit Dam is also much higher thanks to the rain, and is sitting at 19.6 per cent on Tuesday afternoon.
Chaffey Dam is sitting at 22.6 per cent at Tuesday afternoon.
